Key line: The biggest news from Chevy Performance is a much hotter LT1 crate engine based on the 6.2-liter V8 found in the Corvette Stingray and Camaro SS. While similar in design, the LT376/535 sports a unique block casting and cylinder head design. Output rises to 535 horsepower — 75 more than the previous LT1 crate engine.
This is interesting. How much would Skynet pay for a Z28 Camaro with this engine? Or perhaps a special edition Vette (I’m looking at you Grand Sport)?
Or, better yet, an ATS-V with this engine?

A small hp gain from a metric fuckton of work... The V6 is fine. Probably more reliable too.

I doubt we’ll see it in any mass produced road going cars because:

Car and Driver went through 2 or 3 LT1s. It’s not as good as the LS.

I’m gonna guess it’s still hit and miss. Still, even if they were on par for reliability, it wouldn’t be worth the swap.

Agreed on that front. I’m saying I want a factory car with this engine. Like special hard core, lighweight models. I’d much rather have a lightweight Camaro with this engine than the Z06's engine.

agree - that motor would make a very nice limited edition Grand Sport or Camaro late in the model cycle...
